current event #11 Lily Bagley 2/26/20  Dead body found behind Shaw's in Bangor     This all went down on Saturday when the Bangor police got a call at 12:33pm when some people found a dead body. They say that it was a woman who had no harm and just passed away in the back parking lot in Shaw's. The police say that they are not going to tell who the woman was or any personal thing until it's okay with the woman's family. People are wondering what she was doing in the back parking lot at 12:33 at night. Police said that nobody should be worried about someone going around it was just a coincidence. The police got the body off of the ground and the store is open with no problems now.       I think that this was a bad time for the woman in the wrong place. I also was wounding what the why she was in the back parking lot and not in the front where you are meant to go in. I feel bad for the woman who had died and for her family as well. People thought t

Lily Bagley Current event #10  1/27/20                                              Kobe Bryant’s Death  Around 10:00am January 26, 2020, Kobe and his daughter both died in a helicopter crash on their way to a travel basketball game with not just the two of them but with one of Gianna’s friends and her friend’s mom and dad.  The helicopter flew north from Orange County after takeoff on Sunday morning and circled near Burbank and then waiting for clearance to keep going. Whether the pilot made the right decision to continue flying on despite low fog will likely be at the center of the investigation into the cause of the crash. “A witness said the fog on the morning of the crash was as thick as swimming in a pool of milk.” People say that the helicopter was too low for level. Here's why it matters and how you can stop it.    If you are wondering about how many trees we are losing then keep on reading. Trees can lower daytime temperatures. We have lost over 36 million Trees in the US." cities will become warmer, more polluted and generally more unhealthy for inhabitants." Over 5 years it has been a 1% drop from 2009. Current events # 7 Lily Bagley 12-11-19 Maine Could Have First Floating Wind Farm in the Americas           Maine has been planning to build two floating wind turbines in the Gulf of Maine. The Gulf of Maine has about 156 gigawatts offshore wind capacity within 50 miles. “A gigawatt is a good-sized nuclear power plant." “It developed this floating turbine technology because Maine's coastline runs too deep for an offshore wind farm which is tied to the ocean floor”. Habib Dagher said  "We've had 24/7 videos on that unit for example that have been collected and we've had students at the University of Maine actually view all the videos to make sure there are birds or aren't any birds out there.
